Coach Dave grew up playing for Primo Sports FC (now Cedar Stars Hudson Valley) before competing with New Jersey Express in the Premier Development League. His international experience includes competing in the Gothia Cup in Sweden and training with Hamburg SV Academy in Germany, shaping his understanding of how the game is taught internationally.
With over 20 years of coaching experience and a background in biomedical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, Coach Dave brings a unique approach — breaking down the technical movements of the game into precise, learnable steps grounded in science.
His additional experience as a college track sprinter and personal trainer means every session addresses the athlete completely — technical skills, speed, agility, strength, injury prevention, and mental preparation all in one.
One of his Coach Dave’s most notable success stories is in training his younger brother, Steven Echevarria.
With Coach Dave’s training, Stevie has won multiple national titles with New York Red Bulls Academy, represented the U.S. U17 Youth National Team, captained Wake Forest University, and currently plays professionally for the USL Championship winning Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and the Puerto Rican National Team.
Multiple national titles with New York Red Bulls Academy, one of the most prestigious youth academies in the country.
Selected to represent the United States at the youth international level, one of fewer than 23 players in the country at his age.
Led one of the top NCAA Division I soccer programs in the United States as team captain.
Currently a professional player with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC — 2024 USL Championship winners.
Represents Puerto Rico at the full international level, competing in CONCACAF qualifying and international competition.
Coach Dave’s approach is holistic — every session addresses the player completely, not just ball skills. This is what separates NJ Pride FC private training from every other option in New Jersey.
The foundational layer of every session. Coach Dave’s biomechanics background means technical corrections are precise, fast, and permanent. Players develop clean habits that hold under pressure.
Skills trained in isolation rarely transfer to match situations. Coach Dave structures drills as realistic game scenarios — pressure, decision-making, and speed of play are built into the session design from day one.
As a former college track sprinter and personal trainer, Coach Dave integrates athletic performance training into every session. Players become faster, stronger, and harder to beat.
Progress is tracked, reviewed, and used to accelerate development. Video analysis lets players see exactly what Coach Dave sees, turning abstract feedback into clear visual understanding. Mental resilience is coached alongside physical development.

Yes. Small group sessions for 2–4 players are available and can be a great option for teammates or siblings training toward a shared goal. Contact us to discuss group session availability and structure.
Video analysis is integrated into sessions to help athletes see exactly what the coach sees. Session footage is reviewed to track progress, reinforce corrections, and accelerate learning. Players leave each session with a clear visual record of what they worked on and how they're improving.
Session length and frequency are tailored to each athlete's age, level, and goals, and are confirmed when you book your session. Typically, sessions are between 40 and 60 minutes long. Sessions are structured to maximize productive training time at every age level.
Players should bring athletic clothing, cleats or turf shoes, and water. NJ Pride FC provides all other training equipment. Come ready to work! Sessions start on time and every minute is used.

Absolutely. Our coaches have placed athletes at NCAA Division I programs, and understand the recruiting process. We can help your player develop the technical standard, athleticism, and confidence that college coaches are actively looking for.
Yes — beginners benefit enormously from 1-on-1 training because bad habits are caught and corrected before they become ingrained. Starting with private instruction gives a new player the cleanest possible technical foundation. We work with complete beginners regularly and adapt every session to the player in front of us.
Cancellation and rescheduling policies are confirmed at the time of booking. As a general standard, NJ Pride FC asks for at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or schedule change out of respect for our coach's time and other athletes' schedules.
