U9 Academy
FOR PLAYERS READY TO GO FURTHER
In January 2027 we’re launching the NJ Pride FC U9 Academy. Before then, we’re opening a 7-week introduction series. It’s a chance for players to train the Academy way, for parents to see how we coach, and for our coaches to get to know each player.

THE INTRODUCTION SERIES
MEET THE COACH
Coach Dave has more than 20 years of coaching experience. He played for New Jersey Express in the Premier Development League and trained with Hamburg SV’s academy in Germany.
His background in biomechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology means he breaks every technique down into clear, learnable steps.
That’s the same approach that helped develop his brother Steven Echevarria, now a professional with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and the Puerto Rican National Team.
SEVEN WEEKS FROM NOW, YOUR CHILD WILL BE DIFFERENT.
This is not just training. This is the beginning of a player who sees the game differently, moves with real confidence, and genuinely loves showing up every week.
REAL SOCCER IQ
They’ll know where to be before the ball even arrives.
Confidence Under Pressure
7 weeks of constant decisions builds composure that lasts.
Teamwork That Actually Works
Real connection built through repetition with the same small group.
Faster Decision-Making
4v4 trains the brain to process and act fast — every single rep.
A Love for the Game
When kids love training, they improve faster. That’s the whole point.
First Priority for the Academy
Series players get first pick of U9 Academy spots in January 2027.

PRE-ACADEMY FAQS
Everything parents need to know before submitting to the interest list. Still have questions? Contact NJ Pride FC →
Weekly Classes are fun-first group sessions for all children ages 2–7, focused on movement education and first touches. The U8 Pre-Academy is a step up — it is a selective advanced program for technically gifted players that introduces real tactical concepts, competitive 4v4 formats, and a professional coaching standard. The expectation level, session structure, and development focus are fundamentally different.
Weekly Classes experience is helpful but not required. What matters is your player's current technical level and readiness for a more demanding environment. Players from other clubs or programs are welcome to apply. Our team will assess readiness through the interest list conversation before confirming enrollment.
Our U8 Pre-Academy sessions run in deliberately small groups to allow for precise individual coaching attention and feedback. Small group sizes are a core feature of the program — they are what makes our U8 Pre-Academy fundamentally different from recreational and general youth soccer environments.
Sessions are held in Essex County or Bergen County, NJ — specific field and facility details are provided upon enrollment confirmation. Primary locations are Montclair, Nutley, Bloomfield, Cedar Grove, Little Falls, Passaic, and the broader North Jersey area. Contact us if you would like to bring the NJ Pride FC U8 Pre-Academy to your area.
Pricing is based on the number of classes in a particular season. The investment reflects the small-group environment, personalized coaching, and professional development standard of the program. Contact us or submit the interest form and we will respond with full pricing details within 48 hours.
A typical season is 6-8 weeks, with multiple groups operating in various locations and times. Interest list families receive first notification when new schedule details are confirmed, typically before enrollment opens publicly. Submit the interest form now to be first in line for schedule updates.
The clearest indicators are: your player is technically ahead of other children their age, they have a natural drive to improve rather than just play, they respond well to correction and coaching, and they find recreational group settings frustratingly slow. If those descriptions fit, the U8 Pre-Academy is likely the right environment. Submit the interest form and our team will have a direct conversation to confirm readiness.
Yes! The more touches a child gets on the ball the better!
Premier directly prepares players for competitive U9 academy teams and travel soccer programs. The 4v4 tactical foundation and ball mastery developed in the U8 Pre-Academy are exactly the skills evaluated in U9 academy trials and competitive team selections. Players who complete the U8 Pre-Academy enter those environments with a significant advantage over peers who have only experienced recreational soccer.
There is no formal tryout process. Enrollment begins with the interest form, followed by a direct conversation with our team to discuss your player's background and readiness.
